Kids Cup Cake Class

About this course

A great class for kids during the school holidays

This class will focus on teaching children between the ages of 7 – 12 the basic skills in colouring frosting, piping and decorating half a dozen individual cupcakes. These basic skills can be applied to any number of future cake projects.

This course will be led by Sarah, who bakes and makes all Cake Art’s standard and custom cupcakes. Additional supervision will be provided by our friendly Cake Art team.

Course Pre-requisite

No experience necessary for this class. Our qualified teachers will give step by step instructions, carefully explaining each decorating technique, to the young participants of this course.

Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this course, children will have a basic understanding of the following cake decorating techniques and be able to:

  • Ice half a dozen cupcakes with butter cream (fudge) icing
  • Colour buttercream (fudge) correctly
  • Use the correct piping technique for a variety of techniques
  • Decorate iced cupcakes with sprinkles, iced flowers, iced decorations, cashous, sprinkles, etc (*limited to available stock).

Duration:

2 – 3 hours; commencing at 9:30am.

Cost:

$70 per child

  • Apron
  • Closed toe shoes and appropriate clothing (no short shorts, singlets and hair must be tied up)
  • Appetite

Drip Cake Class

About this course

A great class for teenagers who are interested in cake decorating.

This class will focus on correct masking and drip cake techniques. It will provide students will great tips and tricks to get their buttercream icing super smooth and apply the perfect drip!

This course will be led by Kira, who is the Assistant Head Chef, and produces many of Cake Art’s masterpieces. Additional supervision will be provided by our friendly Cake Art team.

Course Pre-requisite

No experience necessary for this class. Our qualified teachers will give step by step instructions, carefully explaining each decorating technique, to the teenage participants of this course.

Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this course, students will have a basic understanding of the following cake decorating techniques and be able to:

  • Prepare and mask a cake with ganache
  • Prepare and attach fondant decorations to a drip cake
  • Colour buttercream
  • Decorate a drip cake with sprinkles, cones, etc.
  • Apply the drip effect to a 6” DH mud cake

Duration:

3 - 4 hours; commencing at 9:30am.

Cost:

$175 per person, including light lunch

  • Knives – paring and palette
  • 6 pack Americolours

2D Blue Ninjago Class

About this course

This highly anticipated Cake Art course will equip you with many basic skills that can be applied to any future cake projects.

This course will be led by our Head Decorator, Nicole, who has lead the Cake Art Decorating Team for 5 years and can be seen decorating one of the 15 Max Brenner Cakes in the Corporate – Media section of the Cake Art website. Nicole will have additional assistance from our friendly Cake Art Team.

Course Pre-requisite

No experience necessary for this class. Our qualified teachers will give step by step instructions, carefully explaining each decorating technique, to the participants of this course.

Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this course, students will have a basic understanding of the following cake decorating techniques and be able to:

  • Carve and prepare a 2D (two dimensional) shaped cake
  • Cover and mask a cake with ganache
  • Cover a shaped cake with fondant icing
  • Model cake decorations from fondant
  • Colour fondant icing
  • Piping, if time permits

Duration:

4 - 5 hours; commencing at 9:30am.

Cost:

$175 per person, including light lunch

Terms and Conditions

Classes are non-refundable and must be paid in full upon booking. Arrive to class at least 15 minutes prior to the advertised start time.
If a class does not reach minimum student numbers, an alternate day may be made available. If you cannot attend the alternative date or the class is cancelled you will be issued a full refund.

Dress Requirements:

All students are required to wear full length pants, closed shoes and a sleeved 
Shirt/t-shirt (NO singlet tops), hair nets will be supplied. Strictly no exceptions. 
You will not be allowed to Participate in the class if you are not wearing the appropriate clothing, if you are unsure please call Cake Art.

 


 

Terms and conditions:

There is a maximum of 12 students per workshop. 
Cake Art reserves the right to cancel a workshop if a minimum of 4 people have not booked in for that workshop,
in this case you will be placed into an alternate class, or refunded workshop fees.
